Download iCal FileDuring this workshop, OIS advisors will review the basic processes for sponsoring foreign nationals at UIC in various paid appointments across UIC employment categories: Faculty, Postdoc, Staff, clinical, etc.
The following topics will be covered:
- Basic immigration concepts and the government agencies involved
- Overview of common employee immigration statuses: F-1 OPT, J-1, H-1B, O-1, and TN
- Timeline for sponsorship
- myOIS Check-in and onboarding
This workshop is open to UIC administrators whose work involves recruiting, hiring, and supporting foreign national employees at UIC.
