SUMMARY:STEM OPT Workshop
DESCRIPTION:F-1 alumni on an approved period of 12-Month Post-Completion Optional Practical Training (OPT) that are interested in applying for the STEM extension are required to attend an introductory workshop before submitting a STEM request to OIS or application to USCIS.    The STEM OPT workshop covers essential information about the benefit such as eligibility requirements, application process, and timeline. Participants will leave with an understanding of how and when to apply for STEM OPT along with the necessary application materials. Eligible applicants may attend a STEM OPT Workshop at any point during their 12-month post-completion OPT period, however, it's recommended to begin the STEM extension application process around four months prior to the expiration of your current 12-month post-completion OPT EAD.    STEM OPT Workshops are conducted online via Zoom. Registration is required and log-on details will be provided upon registration.    Please note that late arrival to the STEM OPT Workshop or early departure is not allowed. If you are not able to log into your scheduled OPT Workshop at the starting time, you will be advised to reschedule for the next available workshop.
