International Student Funding Opportunities
The Office of International Services is pleased to share three international student funding programs that are currently accepting applications. Read below or visit the OIS website for more information, including the eligibility and application process details for each award.
Laurette Kirstein Scholarship for International Students
The Laurette Kirstein Scholarship for International Students is funded by the estate of Professor Kirstein, who founded the Office of International Services in 1961 and served as its Director until 1993. Seven awards of $5,000 each (pretax)* in the form of student account credit for tuition, books, and living expenses will be offered to international students who display academic excellence and meet eligibility requirements. The deadline to apply is Friday, Feb. 21.
Chicago Consular Corps Professional Development Award
The Chicago Consular Corps Professional Development Award honors the Corps’ commitment to education and cultural exchanges that foster international understanding and support the academic and professional development of our international students. Up to ten successful applicants will receive an award of $1,000 to fund professional development or research projects connected to their study at UIC. The deadline to apply is Friday, Feb. 28.
International Student Ambassador Service Award
The International Student Ambassador Service Award (ISASA) honors international students who are attending UIC on an international student visa and have made an outstanding contribution to the University through campus and/or community service, particularly by contributing to greater knowledge and understanding across our diverse national cultures. Winners receive a $500 monetary prize. Nominations are due by Friday, Feb. 28.
