Download iCal FileDuring this workshop, OIS advisors will review your options for inviting unpaid international visitors to campus. Unpaid international visitors may come to campus for various reasons including independent research, business meetings, interviews, or course audits/ “study”.
The following topics will be covered:
- Volunteering defined
- Visitor activities
- Immigration options: B-1, WB (“ESTA”), J-1, and non-sponsored statuses
- OIS process and timelines
- UIC and campus considerations
This workshop is open to UIC administrators whose work involves inviting unpaid international visitors to UIC and coordinating their activities on campus. Registration is required for participation and is limited to UIC administrators. Please contact ois@uic.edu with any questions. This event will be recorded and shared with those that register.
