The University of Illinois Chicago participates in exchange partnerships with universities around the world. The Office of International Services supports the UIC Exchange program by administering and supporting the incoming exchange student experience.

OIS Thanksgiving Dinner Heading link
Each November, the Office of International Services hosts the UIC international community for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The meal is a way for all of us to come together to share food, friendship, and thanks in the spirit of the U.S. American holiday.
Scholarships & Awards Heading link
OIS is honored to support a number of scholarship and award programs, including the Laurette Kirstein Scholarship for UIC International Students. The scholarship is funded by the estate of Professor Kirstein who founded the Office of International Services in 1961 and served as its Director until 1993.
First Friends Heading link
First Friends is a program designed to assist incoming international students with their adjustment to UIC and the U.S. Incoming students are connected with current students via email prior to their arrival in Illinois and encouraged to ask questions about life as an international student at UIC.
