U.S. taxes can be confusing and feel overwhelming. In this session, a local tax professional will outline the basic obligations non-residents have when it comes to meeting their obligations associated with the U.S. tax system. Topics to be covered will include IRS and state reporting requirements for individuals with and without U.S.-source income, the substantial presence test, how to prepare for the spring tax filing season, and more.

This event is free and open to UIC international students and scholars.
