Oct. 2 USCIS Fee Increases on Hold

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California has issued a nationwide preliminary injunction enjoining fee increases for citizenship and other immigration benefits. USCIS responded to the injunction on their website.

As a result, the changes to USCIS fees and Premium Processing periods outlined by OIS on July 31 and the resulting OIS fee adjustments shared on Sept. 24 will not take effect on Oct. 2 as previously communicated. Current fee structures will remain in place until further notice.

The Office of International Services will continue to monitor the status of the preliminary injunction and notify the UIC community when updates are available. In the meantime, feel free to send any questions or concerns about this announcement to us at or +1 (312) 996-3121.
