USCIS Premium Processing Now Available for Certain Form I-140 Petitions

U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services has announced that premium processing will be available beginning June and July for certain petitioners that have a pending Form I-140 under the EB-1 and EB-2 classifications. This announcement comes as a follow-up to the agency's March 29 statement in which it outlined a trio of efforts to increase efficiency and reduce burdens to the overall legal immigration system. The Office of International Services shared a summary of those efforts here.

The kick-off to expanded premium processing effects, specifically, previously filed Form I-140 petitions under an E13 multinational executive and manager classification or E21 classification as a member of professions with advanced degrees or exceptional ability seeking a national interest waiver (NIW). The Office of International Services will reach out to UIC departments with eligible cases to discuss the possibility of requesting premium processing.

OIS will continue to monitor this planned expansion of USCIS premium processing and notify the UIC community when new forms become available for the program. Questions about this announcement can be directed to OIS at ois@uic.edu or (312) 996-3121.
