The U.S.Department of State requires medical insurance for all J-1 Exchange Visitors and their dependents. You must maintain valid medical insurance coverage that meets the program requirements for the entire duration of your Exchange Visitor Program. OIS requires that you submit proof of your medical insurance coverage that shows your insurance policy meets or exceeds, the EV requirements.
